Echoing is Devaluing You
- Desiree Delilah
It's that thing that you do.
When you exalt or compliment someone to take the energy off you.
Or because you feel like they would be offended that you received when they didn't.
Or because you feel like they need it more than you.
Or how about when you give the person your number and say yes to a date because rejecting them would hurt. They may be sad or upset without, or not feel good enough.
Or MAYBE, it's the way that you don't ask for the Price you want to ask for with your work. Or you don't ask for anything at all until it is the very last resort - often the last minute - because you were trying to avoid being a burden.
You probably don't even know just how dope, or valuable, or even attractive you are. Which means that you're never really given credit.
Because If You Can't See It Babe, You Won't Own It.
And you don't own it, no one else will see it.
And if unsafe people do see it, they'll exploit it.
Because we teach people and the world how to treat us, if we feel obligated undervalue ourselves, others - including external energies - will feel entitled that we do.
if insecure people get a sense there is any power they could have to control us, they will use it.
And the main thing that is weaponized against us is our empathy and our disproportionate sense of responsibility.
Because at the foundation of this is shame and fear.
What was the consequence of you being attractive, brilliant and Receiving with ease?
At some point you learned to fear having. You might have also learned your needs are too much from the same people who taught you to fear having.
The same people who taught you erode yourself.
The same people who taught you to Echo.
Echoing is a psychological and relational pattern, often found in individuals known as echoists. The term is derived from the myth of Echo – a nymph cursed to only repeat what others say, unable to speak her own truth. In modern psychology, particularly in the work of Dr. Craig Malkin, echoism refers to people who fear being a burden, taking up too much space, or being "too much" emotionally. Experts also refer to this as the “opposite of Narcissism.”
Echosits fear being Narcissistic, especially if they have innate gifts, power, and boundaries that make insecure people project. So they habitually hold back and feel obligated to show up for those they believe need more.
You might have been shamed for being a Tall Poppy.
Maybe you received a gift from a family member, and other members of the family didn't.
Maybe you effortless receive a lot of attention, and those who didn't made you like
What ever it is, you trigger people's insecurities.
What was the consequence of you standing out?
As much as people talk about authenticity, some people feel uneasy around those who stand out. Especially if you stand out in a good way. In a way that makes you the exception.
Spirit Only Blessings You in Unrealistic, Miraculous Ways - That Defy Logic.
And when you fear being Exceptional you may sabotage that.
Echoing robs the Naturally Gifted. It is why things that were once so easy - like receiving - seem like an uphill battle.
Some people want to convince that you that this is what is natural, even though what they truly mean is: this is fair.
They must believe:
What goes up, must come down.
You'll lose your looks.
The bigger they come, the harder they fall.
Nobodies perfect, they must be struggling.
People with success are truly lonely.
These beliefs make people feel safe.
And when you defy these, well then the spiraling and "humbling," happens.
You have learned that it is easier to shrink then face the wrath of "fate" or angry have-not. Fear of being a Sellout if you choose not to struggle. If you choose not to settle. If you actually allow yourself to Receive Pleasure and Grace.
Even when you're manifesting, you don't let yourself receive in a big way because:
"Am I allowed to have this?" "Am I allowed to have it this Easy?"
Easy, threatens the Identity you've adapted. But you do not have to stay there anymore.
You Don't Have to Be Afraid Anymore.
Your task, your key to breakthrough, is doing the opposite of what you have been conditioned to do. That is how you change your paradigm and stop experiencing devaluing circumstances.
You can do this safely once understand your blindspots and learn to regulate when confronted with fear that makes you want to shrink again. Because there are things that you want.
And you won't feel satisfied and genuinely cozy in life until you allow yourself to align to people who appreciate you. And then you'll Receive.
